PAC Regional Training in Noncompliance and Peacekeeping

It's time to move beyond “just protest” but what should we be doing?

As groups seek to advance their goals, whether for environmental justice, anti-corruption, social justice or by refusing to cooperate with an authoritarian government, their message can be attacked by people who lose control of their emotions or by provocateurs who are sent to stir up chaos and turn the public away from the group’s message.

Come to this training to learn how to move from just protest to noncompliance, develop strategies to protect the most vulnerable, analyze the segments of society that support the present regime, weaken these segments by pulling people towards resistance, explore best community-based methods of resistance, learn techniques to maintain nonviolence, and explore how your organization can most effectively be part of a larger movement.

Nationally there are trainings being offered to strengthen our strategies and build our resistance movement. This is your opportunity to learn these strategies, strengthen your community and be part of the growing resistance.

Penn Garvin, lead trainer, is a long-time movement trainer and all of the trainers for these workshops are working with a national network of trainers.

Morning Training in Noncompliance:

As we build our movement to stop a dictator, we focus on how we strengthen our resistance, increase our numbers and effectively implement effective methods of noncooperation, in this 3-hour workshop.

Afternoon Training in Peacekeeping:

In this workshop, you will learn de-escalation techniques and effective methods that trained Peacekeepers can use to encourage nonviolence even in the face of those who would disrupt and dilute the effectiveness of Nonviolent Campaigns.

We’re offering two date options for this training:
